TRAINING GOAL
Upon completion of the Safety Management Techniques course, you'll be able to use new knowledge and skills to influence the safety and health efforts at your facility/company.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Attend the Safety Management Techniques course if you are coordinating, supervising, or managing safety and health efforts at your facility/company. Designed for the safety leader, this course meets the needs of safety and health committee leaders, supervisors, and middle/upper managers.
WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND?
Based on sound safety, management, quality, and performance technology principles, Safety Management Techniques is a 4.5 day (30 hours) course that will help you manage employees and/or projects in your safety and health efforts. Program content, case studies, exercises, and discussions focus on the practical knowledge and skills required to effectively deal with safety-related organizational practices, environmental conditions, and human relations issues.
You'll examine your function and leadership role as a safety and health practitioner as special knowledge and skills are covered in this course, including:
Interviewing and consulting
Addressing individual and organizational dynamics
Conducting safety audits
Influencing and managing change
Working with a safety and health committee
Budgeting for safety and health efforts
As a special review activity, you'll assess your own organization's safety and health practices and create a management plan that you can take back to your facility for implementation.
We recommend that you successfully complete Principles of Occupational Health prior to enrolling in this program.
